L'Ecole des Petits and L'Ecole de Batterseas BCDs (Bibliothèque Centre Documentaire ie. Library Information Centre) are the schools' libraries, which play an essential part in the students' language development by offering activities designed to improve their comprehension and interpretation of literary texts.

In addition to the BCDs, each class has its own library containing works of literature tailored specifically to its curriculum.

The school participates in numerous activities year-round as well as in literary competitions and challenges (such as Les Incorruptibles). Exciting workshops with notable figures in the literary world are frequently organised for the students to engage in.

L'Ecole des Petits and L'Ecole de Batterseas BCDs routinely purchase new publications and, together, boast approximately 4000 titles in both French and English, including a variety of fiction and non-fiction. Additionally, every class is subscribed to one or more children magazine.

In 2001, L'Ecole des Petits participated in the BCDE 2000 inititiative, a project aimed at developing nursery and primary schools across Europe.
The school was chosen to be the British representative of this project.

L'Ecole des Petits published  "Parents, Reading and school Library Resources Centres". It can be ordered (£8.99).
