Frequently asked questions

Does my child have to continue in the French system?2021-12-03T13:49:59+00:00

After Grande Section (Year 1), all pupils have a guaranteed place in a French primary school (See our sister school, L’Ecole de Battersea).  Children can also switch to the English system.

Are you a nut-free school?2021-11-25T15:53:16+00:00

No, but we encourage our pupils and staff to avoid bringing food containing nuts onto the premises.

Is the school uniform compulsory?2021-11-25T15:46:38+00:00

Yes, even that we are a French school, we have adopted the British custom of wearing a uniform (Please see Uniform).

Does my child have to pass an exam to get into the school?2021-11-25T15:45:28+00:00

No, except if pupils join us at primary age and are non-French speakers when we assess their level. This is not an entrance exam and does not prevent the child to join the school.

Can my child still register even if they don’t speak English or French?2021-11-25T15:42:10+00:00

Yes of course! L’Ecole des Petits is a non-selective school which proposes adapted classes according to your child’s language level.

“The well being of our pupils is very important, we work closely with parents and all the staff together to make that all our pupils are happy, they feel valued and safe.”
